Those 50 years of Comexi would not be possible without the illusion of their founders. Today we specially remember Mª Loreto Pagès i Soler.

Comexi was founded in 1954 as a maintendance workshop/factory and machine designs for the paper industry. This is the first workshop. It was located in Taquigraf Martí street in Vista Alegre, Girona. In those 150 m² the first impression printing press was made designed.

She is the first secretary in Taquígraf Martí offices.

The second workshop was located in Balmes street num. 1 in Sta. Eugenia area. Mr. Manel Xifra Boada and all the workers were looking forward to better future.

In those 350 m2 50 people worked.

In 1962 the workshop was in Sant Narcís num. 104-106.

This is the mechanical plant in Sant Narcís, inaugurated in 1962. In 3.000 m2 the first CF/4, Puigmal, Montserrat, Everest.. were built.

This is the first central impression flexos press called CF 2/35. Its printing speed was 60 m./min.and its weight was 950 Kg. 400 units were designed and it cost 1.121 Euros. That is its catalogue printed in 70’s.

That is one of the first Sant Eloy’s day and after a good dinner at Sta. Eugenia restaurant a Comexi worker recited “El plat de fusta”.

Every year all the personnel went on a trip. A trip day to Banyoles, where they all had dinner at La Masia restaurant in september, 1962.

For celebrating the Sant Narcís plant inauguration all of them went to Planoles where they had dinner together.

In 1967 a new group concept was ready: the foundation of Coemter and Elpa. Meanwhile Comexi workers visited some factories.

Comexi increase its attendance at main international fairs with the first 4 colours flexopress. The Bruch flexopress was set up in Graphispack, Barcelona 1966.

In 1973 the first 6 colours central impression flexopress came out.

Any Comexi innovation was a good excuse to celebrate. Picnic at Els Angels.

And Comexi people had good time together. This is the football team unmarried-married played in december 1974 in Celrà.

Comexi attended main internacional fairs such as Birmingham (England) in 1977 and Dusseldorf (Germany)

Expansion of the manufacturing plant to Crta. Barcelona 150-154 in 1984 and adquisition of Fungisa, as the foundry of the group.

In 1984 the first 8 colour central impression flexo press was designed as a world novelty. Meanwhile out of Comexi doors, everyone walked very proudly.

In 1980 Comexi America was founded.

Comexi received numerous awards such as the export award for the Cambra de Comerç, Indústria i Navegació in 1994, The Internationalisation of Catalan Economy in 1998, and a year later Middle Companies of Pimecsefes...

In 1992 is created ENVIROXI

In 1994 honourable Mr. Ignasi Farreres, work counsellor, visited Comexi plant in Sant Narcís.

In 1995 the Industry Department of the Catalan Autonomous Government awarded the Tecnology prize to Comexi.

In the 3rd of 1995, the (honorable) Mr. Jordi Pujol located the first stone at the new plant in Riudellots. A year latter the firt flexo press FP was designed as a world novelty.

In 1997 the group of the 33 was defined to discuss the group strategy.

In 1999 the new plant in Riudellots was inaugurated and the first semiautomatic FL10 colour sleeved gearless flexo press was designed.

In 2002 Comexi do Brasil was inaugurated and a year latter the Comexi Group Holding was created.
