• The Comexi Group Technological Center held its first flexible packaging seminar in South America.
Girona, 20th of November, 2012.-Comexi Group, specialist in manufacturing flexible packaging converting machinery, brought together more than 40 people at the company’s first flexible packaging seminar in South America. The event, held in Bogota from the 24 to the 25 of October, was organized by the Comexi Group Manel Xifra Boada Technological Center along with the support of its representing company in Colombia, Novaflex.
Event attendance surpassed the expectations of the organization with more than 40 registrations from over 30 companies. Eighty-five percent of attendees came directly or indirectly from companies related to converting industry in Colombia; however, companies from many other South American countries such as Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic were also present.
The seminar aimed to focus attention on flexible packaging converting processes and the significant changes these processes have experienced over the last few years as a result of advances in technology, especially in the area of prepress. The meeting also reflected upon the positive perspectives for growth, which have led the sector to update and expand its knowledge of the different processes to establish control guidelines.
The seminar was delivered in two parts: The first part focused on flexo printing and the second on lamination and slitting. Presentations were mainly given by specialized technicians directly linked to Comexi Group, although some external collaborators did participate, such as Siegwerk and Morchem in the area of inks and adhesives respectively. All presentations revolved around the central issues of productivity, trends, color management and the most frequent problems and their solutions.

Comexi Group showcases its latest solutions at Tigax fair in Taiwan (n105/2012)

Girona, November 19th, 2012.-Comexi Group, leading company in the manufacture of machinery for the flexible packaging, was at the Tigax Fair held from October 7th to 10th in Taipei, Taiwan. During this international meeting point, the only one of the printing sector held in the Southeast Asian island, Comexi Group showcased its latest solutions to all the Fair’s visitors.
The Comexi Group stand was visited by new enterprises that brought the company the chance of improving its presence in the area thanks to cooperation agreements.
Tigax Fair, despite being small and being the only of its kind in Taiwan, has also given Comexi Group the chance to know about the needs and challenges that the converted flexible packaging industry is dealing with in Southeast Asia.

Comexi Group consolidates its presence in Pakistan at the Plasti&Pack fair (n104/2012)

Comexi Group assigns positive values to this international professional meeting since it increased its clients list
Girona, October 23th, 2012.- Comexi Group, leading company in the manufacture of machinery for the flexible packaging, was at the 10th Plasti&Pack fair of Pakistan held from 4 to 6 September. The international fair had more than 10.000 visitors and 156 exhibitors from 22 countries.
The Comexi Group stand was located in its representative’s premises, S.I. Chemicals, and it had more than a hundred visitors. Eight of those meetings generated short and long-term projects. Besides, the company sold three EVO laminators to new clients: Kamil Packaging from Karachi and HS Printers and Pak Packages, both from Lahore.
Comexi Group already had three machines in Pakistan: a ONE laminator and two EVOs. Thanks to the Plasi&Pack fair, Comexi Group has doubled its machinery in Pakistan.
The international meeting has also been positive to S.I. Chemicals, managed by Mr. Ibrahim, since they hired a new Head of Sales, Mr. Akhlaq A. Khan. The sector is growing in this area, thus the company is also training a group of engineers to be able to offer technical service to their clients.

Comexi Group and the UdG Parc Científic i Tecnològic sign an agreement to promote researching (n103/2012)

Girona, October 17th 2012.- Comexi Group, leading company in the manufacture of machinery for the flexible packaging, and the Parc Científic i Tecnològic of Universitat de Girona (UdG) have signed an agreement to establish the Comexi’s R+D+i headquarters, the Centre Tecnològic Manel Xifra Boada, in the university campus.
The main aim of the agreement is to reinforce the tie between both organizations as well as to improve the industrial researching net in Girona’s area in order to turn the Parc Científic i Tecnològic into a meeting point for innovation.
Manel Xifra, Comexi Group’s president, and Pere Condom, general manager of the Parc Científic i Tecnològic of Universitat de Girona, are very pleased with this agreement. “Researching and development are essential, and being at the Parc premises is an important step for us. I am sure that this cooperation between our organizations will be lasting an beneficial for both of us”, Xifra said.
The Parc Científic i Tecnològic of the UdG added that: “having Comexi at the Parc is an important step for our project since it is the model for Girona’s enterprises and its presence here will reinforce the Parc’s actions. Besides, it will create other cooperation possibilities”.
The Centre Tecnològic Manel Xifra Boada is available for private enterprises and also for researchers and academic centers. It has a team specialized in the printing processes for the flexible package industry and also in the slitter and lamination processes.
